Marie Curie
Project: Redesign of the Supporter Registration process
Role: UX researcher / designer
Tools used: sketch app, invision
Problem definition:
This project was about improving the shift booking process for the volunteers. It was a purely UX focused project, where no UI design would take place; the brand’s look and feel would be applied on the wireframes during the built.
Usr requirements:
Locate the nearest Marie Curie collection points
Ability to book for up to 6 adults in one go
Ability to search within a specific period of time
Ability to select and remove multiple shifts from multiple locations
The process
UX expert review
High fidelity desktop and mobile wireframes for the new process. Given that there wouldn’t be any UI design done during this project, I created high fidelity wireframes using the brand colours, to get a better idea of how the end result would look like. An invision prototype was created to present to the client and communicate the functionality to the tech team.
1. Discovery - UX expert review
A UX expert review was conducted to identify usability issues in the process.
2. Rapid sketching
3. High fidelity wireframes

What could have been done better UX-wise?
Usability testing on the new process to validate or reject our assumptions from the expert review and the recommended solutions
Quality Assurance before the launch to spot some inconsistencies between the proposed UX and the end result.
What we would like to do next?
1. Quality Assurance and bug fixing
2. Usability testing on the new process
3. Re-iterate and optimise the user experience based on the findings of the usability testing. New user journeys, wireframes might be needed, but hopefully not or not much ;-)
